I am an Illustrator, Educator, and User Experience Strategist located in Somerville, Massachusetts. I am an experienced Creative Director with demonstrated history of working in the retail and education industries, and have worked with startups for over 20 years. My strong visual and verbal communication skills, paired with my background in User Experience, User Interface Design, Curriculum Development, Illustration and Start-up Consulting has afforded me the opportunity to do what I truly love - making complex ideas simple, and technology products HUMAN.
My mission is to create illustrations that inspire kindness, to increase compassion for animals and protection of nature. Or as my friend Kate says, "Kindness, or GTFO."
I am interested in pursuing illustration work in for the tech industry, as part of brand and user experience, and illustration for packaging.
I grew up in Ohio and attended The Ohio State University where I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing, Painting, and Printmaking during the golden age of the 90s. I am currently employed as the Creative Director, User Experience for BetterLesson in Cambridge, Massachusetts. I teach at the Rhode Island School of Design, and at the Boston Startup Institute.

My quarterly-ish newsletter doesn’t suck. Want to get some encouragement, learn from my mistakes, or see some cool things I made (including CAKE)? I created a TinyLetter called The Permanent Record for just this purpose.
